Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban is the third movie in the series. Like all the other movies, the Prisoner of Azkaban is based off the novel by J.K Rowling. The movie begins by Sirius Black, Harry’s god-father, breaking out of Azkaban (wizarding world prison). Harry is unaware of Sirius Black breaking out of prison and also who Sirius Black is. When Harry goes to Hogwarts for his next year of schooling he finds out more about Sirius and how he was connected to Harry’s parents. Harry is lead to think that Sirius Black helped Voldemort in the murder of his parents.Harry also encounters two new types of creature, Dementors and a hippogriff. Dementors are soul-sucking creatures that could quickly kill the most powerful wizard. Hippogriff’s are a territorial creature that is mixed between a horse and a bird . Hagrid is the owner of a Hippogriff named Buckbeak; although this seems minor, Buckbeat is a major part of the movie.A new teacher, Professor Lupin, helps Harry learn how to conjure the petronus charm. As Harry and his friends search for more clues they discover more and more about Sirius Black and that their might be others involved. In the end, Harry finds out that Sirius was nothing but a wonderful friend to his parents that tried to help them out. Another man by the name of Peter Pettigrew was the person who helped Voldemort.
Overall this was an excellent third addition to the series. Daniel Radcliffe really captured the part of Harry, as always. This movie was mostly focused on Harry’s past, so the viewers are able to know more about him. The audience does not get to see Voldemort in the whole yet, but this movie is building towards it. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has seen the first two movies.
